Crynodeb
As the Kings Harbourmaster you will be responsible for directing policy, ensuring compliance, and providing advice, direction and guidance to 17 Port & Maritime Regt and the 3 other Army Ports across the Defence Estate. Liaising directly with concession holders on all Port Operation and safety matters when required. You will manage day to day tasking of small team of Military Persons including the Quay Foreman (WO2), Assistant Quay Foreman (Sgt) and Deputy Harbour Master (SSgt).
You will:
Be responsible for the monitoring, regulation and enforcement of all matters relating to the safety of navigation and operation of the Military Enclave
Ensure the Military Enclave attains and maintains the directed level of compliance under the Defence Maritime Regulations and Port Marine Safety Code
Maintain a comprehensive Marine Safety & Environmental Management System (MSEMS), to include Navigational Risk Assessment and Hazard Logs (Wet & Dry operations) for both the Enclave and Military Operations within the Sea Mounting Centre (SMC)
Draft, exercise and validate port emergency plans, including managing and maintaining an effective Marine Oil Spill Response organisation
Develop and maintain HS&EP standards within the port in accordance with the Commanding Officer’s HS&EP statement and commitments
Liaise with appropriate MOD and civilian authorities to promote the safe operation of marine matters within the Military Enclave and neighbouring civilian harbour authorities.
Represent Port Duty Holder (PDH) on all SMC port stakeholder meetings as required and advise and update PDH on all areas of responsibility ensuring they are aware of any non ALARP(as low as reasonably possible) risks in the port area.

You will:
