Summary

An exciting opportunity has emerged for the position of Deputy Sister on Ward 32. The ideal candidate will be an enthusiastic, highly motivated nurse who will assume the role of Deputy Ward Leader on the dual speciality surgical/medical ward, providing support to the team and the Ward Sister. You will be expected to work flexibly to assist the Sister and the team on a full-time basis.

We are a 24-bedded ward specialising in general surgery.

The post holder will serve as the Deputy to the Ward Sister and will be required to take charge regularly, ensuring that the standards and quality of care provided to patients are delivered and maintained at a high standard. You should be an effective leader and role model, and you will be anticipated to offer regular direct clinical care, utilising your experience to aid in the implementation of both clinical and non-clinical governance. Additionally, you should work flexibly as a member of the ward/departmental team and support the Ward Sister in ensuring that standards are upheld, evaluated, and, when necessary, enhanced.

You will be presented with opportunities for both clinical and professional development within a supportive environment, and you will be encouraged to participate in service developments.
