Summary
As an Early Years Educator Apprentice at the Forest Tree Nursery you'll assist and shadow the room leader, gaining hands-on experience in childcare, while continuing your development and working towards completing your apprenticeship.
Based in Baby Room area of the nursery -
General support within the nursery
Day to day tasks in supporting and looking after children in a safe manner
Shadowing and assisting room leader
Responsible for key children and monitoring their development
Liaising with parents and carers
Taking part in observations and reviews of children's learning and development
Continuing development and completing apprenticeship
Training
Your full role and responsibilities will be set out by your employer. The Forest Tree Nursery will provide you with all of the on-the-job training you need to up-skill in your role, and your 20% off-the-job learning will be incorporated as part of your working day.
You will be working towards the Level 3 Early Years Educator apprenticeship standard, which includes:
• Knowledge, Skills and Behaviours
• Level 3 Diploma for the Early Years Educator
• Level 3 Award in Paediatric First Aid or Level 3 Award in Emergency Paediatric First Aid
• Level 2 Functional Skills in maths and English (if required)
This will be delivered through The Forest Tree Nursery dedicated training provider, Realise.
Qualifications required
Experience within an early years setting or desire to become a qualified nursery practitioner.
GCSE Maths/English or equivalent, or willingness to work towards the required level of functional skills alongside the apprenticeship.
Option for skills Bootcamp course to start accelerated apprenticeship at level 3 for the right candidate.
