Summary

**Manual Lathe Operator**


* Location: Redditch
* Salary: £12.72 per hour (£25,796 per annum)
* Hours: 39 hours per week (Monday to Thursday 7:15 am - 4:15 pm, Friday 7:15 am - 12:15 pm)
* Holiday: 25 days per annum (including a portion allocated for the Christmas shutdown)
* Pension: Eligible after 3 months of service

Role Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Manual Lathe Machinist to join our team at our UK manufacturing facility. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in operating manual machines, contributing to the production of our high-quality heat exchangers. This is an opportunity to work in a dynamic and collaborative environment where attention to detail and technical expertise are key.

Key Responsibilities:


* Operate various manual machines, including the Colchester lathe
* Interpret and work from engineering drawings to exacting standards
* Use precision measurement tools such as micrometers and vernier calipers
* Ensure workspace meets 5S cleanliness and organization standards
* Perform preventive maintenance to ensure the longevity of equipment
* Collaborate effectively with the team to meet production targets
* Identify and troubleshoot issues that could impact equipment performance
* Maintain accurate work order documentation
* Safely handle and operate a variety of hand and power tools

Desired Skills and Experience:


* Proven experience in a similar manual machinist role is essential
* Familiarity with gauge Faro arms is an advantage
* Experience with horizontal boring is beneficial
* Ability to work with precision tools and equipment
* Strong understanding of health and safety protocols
* Basic math, reading, and writing skills required
* Positive attitude and a strong commitment to punctuality and attendance

Physical Requirements:


* Prolonged periods of standing and repetitive tasks
* Ability to manually lift heavy objects when necessary
