NVQ Level 3 Children’s residential Or NVQ Level 4 Children, Young People & Family Practitioner is essential
We are on the lookout for a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join a team within a EBD Children’s Residential Home in the Burton on Trent area.
You will provide care for children and young people in modern homes to ensure there is a comfortable environment in which to thrive and live fulfilled and enriched lives.
As a Senior Residential Support Worker, you will oversee the daily operations of the Residential Children's Home. You will provide guidance and support to the care team, ensuring adherence to policies and procedures, and act as a point of contact for external agencies and stakeholders. Previous experience in a leadership role within a residential care setting is required.
Along with the care team, you will play a vital role in the day-to-day care and support of the children and young people. You will provide a nurturing and stable environment, ensuring their safety and well-being. Your responsibilities will include providing emotional support, assisting with daily activities, promoting positive behaviour, and coordinating with other professionals involved in the child's care.
As a Senior Residential Care Practitioner your responsibilities will include:
Working and supporting children and young people to create positive outcomes and promote independence
Supporting the ethos, values and ethics of the organisation
Supporting the daily running of the home and Senior Management decisions
Leading teams
Conducting Supervisions
Shift planning
Delegation
Supporting team development
Accountability of decision making when on shift
Direct practical interactions with children and young people including play, activities, cooking, personal care, engaging with the wider community, supporting educational and health needs
General house duties and maintenance
Completing health and safety checks
Budgeting
Advocacy
Behaviour management
Working to a high standard in line with OFSTED inspection framework requirements, Children’s Homes Regulations and the Quality Care Standards
Engage in planning, creating, updating and implementing care plans
Creating, updating and adhering to individual risk assessments
Keyworking
Working in partnership with other agencies
Report writing and attending reviews as required
Additional information
It is a requirement for this role to have an NVQ level 3 Diploma or equivalent In Children and Young People / Children’s Residential or a Level 4 Children, Young people & Families Practitioner Diploma.
The successful applicant Senior Support Worker will need to possess the following skills and attributes:
NVQ Level 3 Children’s residential Or NVQ Level 4 Children, Young People & Family Practitioner (essential)
Experience in a children's home setting (essential)
Supervisory experience
Passion to help nurture young people
Be able to work shift patterns including sleep ins
Full, UK driving licence (essential)
