Contract Type - Permanent

Hours 2 posts available -

13.5 hours per week 3 x 4.5 shifts working 7 week rota, including weekends

5.75 hours per week - Shift pattern one week 2 x 2 hour 11.45am - 1.45pm, Week two 1 x 11.45am- 1.45pm, 1 x 8.30am - 2.00pm

Scarborough Hospital Catering Department requires an enthusiastic Catering Operatives to work mainly in the Dining Room areas of the Catering Department, but could be asked to work in the Main Kitchen, Patient Satellite.

Applicants must be able to demonstrate the ability to be adaptable and flexible, in order to work variable hours. You must be able to use initiative, be self-motivated and have strong interpersonal and organisational/time management skills,

Applicants must be able to work under pressure, prioritise their own workload and be able to carry out physical tasks.



Duties include,but are not limited to:
• To serve food to staff, visitors, making sure to replenish food to ensure continuity of supply through out the service period.
• Using the tills, counting floats, replenishing change from the safe, using departmental safe procedures.
• Keeping the Dining Room displays and kitchen wash up areas clean, and ready for us the next day
• Monitoring food temperatures as part of HACCP
• Washing up, other general cleaning duties.
• The role also could involve working in the main kitchen and Satellite area .

The ideal candidate will have catering experience, be fantastic with customers, a good team player and able to work on their own unsupervised. Full training will also be provided. Enhanced rates apply when working at the weekend.
