Summary

Our client Scottish Power are currently recruiting for a Digital Strategy & Performance Manager to join their team based in Glasgow on a contract basis initially. Ideally for this role they are looking for a candidate with an experienced digital sales background as well as experience with growing digital acquisitions and developing strategies to grow digital sales. Job Purpose

The Digital Strategy & Performance Manager role is located within the UK Customer Business Sales Department reporting in to Head of Smart Solutions Sales.

A key priority for the Digital Strategy & Performance Manager will be to be the key sales lead for development and growth initiatives to drive traffic to our website increasing the volume of leads and sales across Domestic Gas and Electricity, Smart Solutions & Home Services. An integrated approach is required to drive traffic and the optimal source of that traffic to the ScottishPower site with a focus on traffic quality and ease of customer journeys to facilitate conversions and sales.

The role holder will develop and then execute ScottishPower’s strategy for accelerating both paid and non-paid traffic to scottishpower.co.uk. This includes the management and optimisation of Pay Per Click (PPC) activity, making recommendations around growth of non-paid Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) and Affiliate/Online Partner activity identifying any additional opportunities for growth.

The Digital Strategy & Performance Manager will have accountability for sales and budget targets across digital sales channels with the ability to plan and forecast sales delivery and budget spend throughout the year.

Accountability


Strategic Planning & Delivery:
• Digital Strategy: Develop, collaborate and implement holistic digital sales strategies across multiple channels, manage the PPC budget and make recommendations of growth of SEO content marketing, campaign opportunities and more
• Campaign delivery: Oversee the planning, execution, and optimisation of digital sales campaigns
• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business objectives and design tailored digital sales strategies.
• Collaborate to create new channels and sales opportunities and partnerships managing associated timelines and budgets.

Performance Optimisation:
• Analyse market trends, customer behaviour, and industry best practices to ensure digital sales strategies are improving online presence and driving ROI.
• Data-driven optimisation: Implement data-driven improvements to channels for continual optimisation and growth
• SEO & Content Optimisation: Collaborate with our marketing content and SEO teams to ensure websites are optimised for search engines, driving organic traffic and improving conversion rates. Conduct keyword research, monitor rankings, and propose content improvements to maximise opportunities.
• Analytics & Reporting: Monitor and analyse key performance indicators (KPIs) for digital sales channels. Prepare detailed performance reports, derive actionable insights, and provide recommendations for continuous improvement.

Insight and analysis:
• Insight generation: Provide valuable insights and direction for optimising the digital sales experiences using digital tools and work closely with the Digital CRO teams to support ongoing improvements.
• Competitive Analysis: Conduct regular assessments of competitors digital sales strategies to benchmark our performance and identify areas where we can gain a competitive advantage.
• Stay updated with Industry Trends: Keep abreast of the latest developments in digital marketing, ecommerce, sales and technology. Suggest and implement new tools, techniques, and strategies to maintain a competitive edge

Relationship management:
• Relationship Management: Foster strong relationships, acting as a trusted advisor on all things related to digital sales.
• Communicate channel progress, results, and future recommendations effectively.
• Proactively identify opportunities for upselling additional products and services.
• Inspire and motivate a small team to deliver acquisition targets and encourage innovation and creativity.

Innovation & Continuous Improvement:
• Spearhead innovative digital sales solutions that drive incremental volume for ScottishPower.
• Drive the exploration and adoption of new digital sales tools and platforms.

Increased traffic, conversion, and sales across all products:
• Devise, manage and deliver the traffic and conversion strategy with the objective of increasing the conversion and sales volume & value at the lowest possible cost
• Delivery of a budget target across all products with management of high value financial budgets
• Directing multidisciplinary teams to create and deliver strategic & innovative solutions
• Identify opportunities, negotiate, and deliver propositions in line with budget requirements
• Manage continuous improvement & project implementation of concurrent initiatives across multiple channel strands



Skills, Knowledge & Experience


• A creative thinker with a strategic mindset
• An experienced digital sales specialist, with experience of strategising, executing, and optimising digital sales channels
• Proven experience in online acquisition and channels with a focus on strategy and delivery
• Demonstrated success in executing high-performing digital sales campaigns including growth via affiliate or partner platforms
• Proficiency in using tools such as Google Analytics, or other relevant platforms.
• Good understanding of PPC & SEO best practices and experience with content optimisation and recommendations
• Familiarity with digital sales tools and best practices
• Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal
• Strong project management and time management abilities, with a focus on meeting deadlines
• Passion for staying up to date with industry trends, competitor insight and technologies
• Knowledge of energy and low carbon technology products including solar advantageous
