Summary

A highly motivated echocardiographer with a passion for echocardiography would be the ideal candidate forthis role.Our department is expanding and there are increasing needs to extend our training capability in the department and the wider trust.The post-holder will be expected to partake in all aspects of transthoracic echocardiography and be able to independently scan and write comprehensive reports according to the British Society of Echocardiography minimum dataset and accompanying pathology guidelines.Mentoring candidates undertaking society exams will be a fundamental part of this role as well as acting as a role model for high standard of echocardiography practice.Each trainee echocardiographer is assigned a supervisor who is responsible for ensuring that training is progressed and there is adequate support for that trainee including signing off logbooks, DOPS, training listsare booked appropriately.All echo slots at WHH are a minimum of 45 minutes, with a minimum of 60-minute slots assigned forunaccredited/newly accredited echocardiographers. There is a monthly echo teaching session that lasts 1 hourplus weekly drop in sessions to discuss interesting/discordant scans Please see the attached JD & Person Specification for a full job description
