We have an exciting opportunity for a Paralegal to join our Immigration team in our recently opened Manchester office.

What does the Immigration team look like?
We are a friendly team, focused on serving our clients with compassion and providing the best legal advice and work. We handle all types of immigration applications, including applications for entry clearance or leave to enter the UK, Leave to Remain in the UK, Nationality and Citizenship, Asylum & Human Rights cases, Business Immigration, and other various areas. We pride ourselves as one of the best human rights claim firms across the UK and also manage to get other complex immigration cases granted. Our skills and expertise in immigration law have led us to expand into three cities within four years from the inception of the firm. We work as a team, supporting, helping, and appreciating each other.
What would you be expected to do?
- Provide a casework and advocacy service to clients of the firm in all aspects of immigration law. This is largely casework based.
- Assist clients in liaising with other people and organizations to resolve their immigration problems where possible.
- Provide advice as part of our telephone advice service and book the necessary follow-up appointments.
- Take part in outreach work to solicit new clients to generate revenue.
- Ensure prompt billings on files.
- Manage a caseload of files independently.
- Submit applications for visas and leave in all areas of immigration law.
- Lodge appeal notices and grounds.
- Handle applications for bail.
- Prepare settlement applications.
- Process business immigration applications.
- Manage asylum immigration applications.
- Represent clients in correspondence with UKVI and at UKVI interviews.
- Stay up to date with changes in relevant legislation.
- Undertake necessary training to maintain standards required by OISC.

What we expect you to have:
- At least 1 year of experience in Immigration Law is preferred.
- Display professionalism, high quality of service, and a "can do" attitude.
- Ability to learn procedural and processing requirements for various visa types.
- Build knowledge of the firm with a potential client base.
- Demonstrate attention to detail and achieve a high level of productivity. Handle an average caseload of 30.
- Multitask in a fast-paced environment with competing demands.
- Meet assigned deadlines and communicate case progress/status/issues to supervisors.
- Demonstrate flexibility and initiative regarding assignments for self and team.
- Contribute to a positive work environment.
- Develop strong working relationships with team members and gain their confidence through professionalism and efficiency in all communications.
- Proficiency in both written and verbal communication while communicating within the firm and representing the firm to clients and related organisations.
- Learn from both positive and negative experiences and adapt accordingly.
Fee Earner Role:
As a fee earner, you will be responsible for generating revenue for the firm through your casework. This involves managing your own caseload, billing clients promptly, and participating in activities that attract new clients. Your ability to effectively manage and grow your caseload while maintaining high standards of service will be critical to your success in this role.
