This is an exciting opportunity to be Café Manager at our
*BRAND NEW* Shop/Café in Wroxham, Norfolk, opening in November 2024!

East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH) ensure the best possible quality of life and make every moment count for children and families across Cambridgeshire, Essex, Norfolk and Suffolk. Our family-centred approach includes specialist nursing care, symptom management nursing, short breaks, wellbeing activities, therapies, care at end of life, bereavement support, counselling and volunteer services in the family home; all meeting the individual needs of the child, young person and whole family.

In 2020, all three of our hospices; The Nook (Norfolk), The Treehouse (Ipswich) and Milton (Cambridge) were rated OUTSTANDING by the Care Quality Commission.
Our people are central to our success. We have a talented workforce of staff and volunteers in Care, Fundraising, Retail, Facilities, IT, Finance, Marketing & Communications and Human Resources.

We employ around 400 employees and have more than 1,800 volunteers across the organisation, including 49 shops and a Retail Distribution Centre.

Café Manager - Wroxham, NR12 8UP

Full Time, 37.5 hours per week

Mandatory weekend working on a rotational basis

Permanent Contract

£23,634 per annum

Along with the Shop Manager, you will create our fantastic new community space, where our customers can buy items in our shop but also sit and relax with a bite to eat and a beverage in our café.

You will build a team, focused on our customers in the café ensuring a high standard of food and beverage service and a welcoming approach to all. You will support the Shop Manager and have some responsibilities covering the shop.

Are you:
• Passionate about customer service & building community support for the charity
• An enthusiastic manager with Café management experience
• Experienced in using professional coffee machines
• Able to demonstrate strong leadership skills and commercial awareness
• Able to demonstrate proven success in achieving sales targets

Do you have a hands-on approach and the ability to:
• Recruit and motivate a team of volunteers to maximise sales and generate income to support the work of EACH
• Influence and increase sales and productivity

The Role:
• To maximise sales of food and beverages within the café
• To manage the café staff and volunteer team alongside the Retail Shop Manager by providing guidance and direction to their efforts
• To support EACH retail in its ambition to be the most loved charity shop in our community

Experience of working with volunteers would be an advantage, however this role would also suit a candidate with high street retail experience. As this is a retail post, regular weekend work is required.
