Thanet District Council’s Tenant and Leaseholder Services is recruiting. We are looking for motivated professionals to join our amazing team.

We are looking for a Housing Officer who is highly organised and committed to delivering great customer service. As a team we are developing and improving our service, making this a great opportunity to feed into and drive forward your own improvements and to be part of something bigger.

We are looking for someone that is motivated and conscientious to join as one of our Housing Officers. You do not necessarily need to have experience in housing but if you can demonstrate drive and enthusiasm to deliver great customer service, are passionate about service improvement and have an eye for detail then we want to hear from you.

Main Duties:

You will be responsible for providing key tenancy and estate management services to our Tenants and Leaseholders.

Tasks will include:

Tenancy management including succession, assignment. Tenancy audits and tenancy fraud.
Responding to reports of breaches of tenancy.
Lead on Estate Inspections engaging with all relevant stakeholders.
Reviewing Introductory tenancies to ensure that all Introductory Tenancy checks are carried out.
Carrying out property inspections to ensure properties are being maintained in accordance with the tenancy agreement.
Working collaboratively with colleagues to deal with and respond to fire safety issues in communal areas.
Liaise with external partners when dealing with welfare concerns and raising safeguarding concerns when appropriate.




Due to the nature of the role the successful candidate will be required to undertake an Enhanced DBS check as part of their pre-employment checks.
