Summary

Do you have a passion for data? Do you have a yearning to turn data into insights, and to enhance the delivery of patient care and safety through rigorous analysis? Are you looking for a role where you will be exploring advances in technologies, learning new skills rapidly and delivering great results in a fast-paced environment? If so, we may have just the job you’re looking for!

We have permanent and 12 month fixed term positions available. Candidates who are successful at interview may be offered either a permanent or a fixed term post.

At the heart of Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust’s ambitious Digital Strategy is the provision of high-quality data to support intelligence-led decision making. You will be working in a team that is key to delivering this element of the strategy using highly developed skills in the use of data and analytics.

Our department covers all things ‘data’. This includes:
• capture of data – the ‘build’ of the data structures within electronic operational clinical and administrative systems; how the human interactions with these systems support the capture of good quality data
• transfer of data between systems
• storage and data from multiple systems – building and maintaining data within our data warehouse to enable efficient access of ‘real-time’ and ‘snapshot’ data
• data management – data quality, data integration and documentation analytics – visualisation and dashboards; supporting operational and mandatory reporting, machine learning

Our Analysts cover many roles. These could include, but are not limited to, the following:
• investigation, development and production of ad-hoc analyses to support operational and clinical services within the organisation
• development, production and submission of nationally mandated data returns and data flows
• development, production and submission of data and reports required to support the organisation's financial flows
• production of regular reports
• testing and documentation of interfaces
• development of reports within our business intelligence environment
• investigation and resolution of data quality issues
• involvement in specific Trust projects
• data warehouse development and testing

Candidates will be required to attend a face to face test. Candidates who pass the test will then be invited to interview.

We manage three major locality hospitals at North Tyneside, Wansbeck and Hexham, plus a number of smaller community hospitals and clinics from Tynemouth to Berwick on Tweed, in addition to our state-of-the-art Northumbria Specialist Emergency Care Hospital, the first of its kind in England. We also care for people in their homes and provide services from facilities in local communities such as health centres. We give people greater choice and control over their care to help them to live independently at home and avoid hospital admission where appropriate. High quality patient care is at the heart of everything we do and we strive to ensure every single patient and service user has an exceptional experience with us. We have one of the most extensive patient experience programmes of any trust in England.

To provide a data and analysis service to senior managers and clinicians through analysis and interpretation of clinical data and to contribute to performance monitoring.
To role model compassionate and inclusive leadership in order to shape the creation of a collective leadership culture within the trust. This means demonstrating a consistent leadership style which (a) engages, enables and empowers others (b) uses coaching to promote ownership of learning and quality improvement and (c) facilitates team working and collaboration within teams / departments and across organisational boundaries.
