Summary


An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Department of Trauma, Orthopaedics & Plastics for a motivated, enthusiastic, flexible individual to join our Trauma Team.

To provide expert holistic care and advice to support trauma patients, providing safe and effective care with a positive patient experience. Act as the patients advocate throughout their journey. Assist with Orthopaedic clinical skills in a specialist area of care.
• Focus on pre-operative optimisation and contribute to the clinical management of all trauma patients admitted to the SRFT site.
• Act as an expert resource to the multidisciplinary trauma team, by providing specialist advice to support assessment, planning and implementation of care and where appropriate to deliver programmes of care.
• Provide specialist education and training to clinical staff.
• To work collaboratively within the multidisciplinary team this includes our Orthopaedic Consultant trauma surgeons, service team, Anaesthetics, theatre teams, ward and outpatient staff and other internal and external stakeholders.
• Participate in the formation, prioritisation of all theatre trauma lists and support the patient’s pathway to theatre. Track and facilitate the trauma patient’s progress.
• Take responsibility for own professional development, be accountable for own professional actions, work well independently and within a team, not directly supervised.
• To support in the development of the trauma service.
• To ensure that a focus is given to fractured neck of femur patients and monitoring and escalating best practice standards.
• Support the daily trauma meeting to ensure it is effective and patient focused.

This vacancy is open to those who have a current NMC PIN to practice as an Registered Nurse or Midwife in the UK, or those who are currently enrolled on a course which means they expect to receive their full NMC PIN within the next 3 months.
