At The Myton Hospices, we provide specialist care and support for people with life-limiting illnesses, and their loved ones, from the point of diagnosis to end of life. We are a much-loved and well supported charity, at the heart of our community. We have three hospices, a range of community services, and 25 charity shops in Coventry and Warwickshire.

Join our Therapy Services team and support our specialist Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists with interventions ranging from one-to-one to groups such as exercise classes.

As our Therapy Assistant, a typical day might include:

- Assisting the Therapists in carrying out joint interventions
- Assisting in organising and delivering group exercises
- Undertaking clerical duties
- Working independently with patients after intitial assessment by the Therapists
- Attending home visits
- Ordering/monitoring equipment for patients and carrying out equipment safety checks
- Attending and contributing to handovers and multidisciplinary team meetings

This role will help our work by supporting our Therapists to provide holistic, patient-centred services to patients with life-limiting conditions, including cancer, cardiac/respiratory conditions and long-term neurological conditions.

The hours would ideally be worked over three days, Tuesday-Thursday, between 8-4, 8.30-4.30 or 9-5, but we would be open to alternatives or flexibility if needed.

You will mostly work at our Warwick Hospice but you will also travel to our other sites in Coventry and Rugby, as well as to patients’ homes.

About you:

We are looking for a Therapy Assistant with:

- Experience of working in a healthcare or community setting
- Experience of multidisciplinary team working
- UK driving licence and a vehicle for work
- Basic level of English and Maths (e.g. GCSE, O Level, Functional Skills or equivalent)
- Skills in spoken and written communication, time management, organisation, problem solving and IT.

Other roles you may have experience of could include: Healthcare Technician; - Physiotherapy Assistant; Physiotherapy Support Worker; Occupational Therapy Support Worker.

We will request an enhanced DBS check including barred lists.
