About Kent Wildlife Trust:

Kent Wildlife Trust is the county’s leading conservation charity with more than 31,000 members and over 1000 registered
volunteers. We manage and protect over 9000 acres of land across more than 90 different sites and nature reserves, alongside 2
visitor centres.

But we can’t save nature alone. So, we work closely with local communities, businesses, organisations and individuals to protect
and restore wildlife and wild spaces and create a wilder Kent for the benefit of people and the planet.

The opportunity:

Kent Wildlife Trust is at the forefront of developing innovative ways of using graziers, browsers and rootlers to deliver missing
ecosystem elements that were once provided by wild animals. Kent Wildlife Trust owns over 800 animals of 16 different species and
breeds working across over 50 nature reserves and covering hundreds of hectares. The Wilder Grazing Rangers support the delivery
of many of these projects, working closely with the Area Wardens, Livestock Managers, and Evidence Officers.

Key Responsibilities:

This is a practical role that incorporates skills such as strimming and fence repair, alongside high quality animal welfare
checks, volunteer recruitment and team support. In order to provide 7-day-a-week cover, the working days for this post are Tuesday
to Saturday and mostly across sites in the Eastern half of the county (complimenting another post working Sunday to Thursday in
the West of the county). The role is based at our head office at Tyland Barn, Maidstone. A vehicle is provided for travelling
between sites. There is no on-call rota associated with this post currently as this is covered elsewhere. Livestock experience is
preferred but full training will be provided.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

Do you have a range of practical tickets? Are you confident working outdoors independently in a role where no two days are the
same? Do you have good organisational skills that allow you to make changes to your working day when new challenges arise, as they
frequently do with livestock and the public? Do you have good skills communicating through WhatsApp and Teams, with experience of
working remotely on cloud based systems? Are you curious about or already involved in conservation grazing and the biodiversity
benefits? If so, we want to hear from you!

We are unable to recruit anyone who does not have a right to work in the UK.

Benefits:

We offer exceptional enhanced benefits. Recognising the wellbeing pressures related to the climate and nature crises we face as a
society, we provide flexible work options, wellbeing initiatives, and professional development opportunities. Whatever stage of
your career you’re at, our comprehensive benefits package at Kent Wildlife Trust can be a key factor in your decision to join us.

Procedure for applicants:

Applicants should read the Guidance Notes carefully before completing the online application form supported by a personal
statement and CV.

Successful candidates will be invited to Successful candidates will be invited to a face-to-face interview at Tyland Barn on 13th
November 024. Interviews will include a set of competency questions, an admin/office-based task, and a practical livestock
check.
