Summary
Managing the Procurement Category Team members. Assigning procurement projects to team members, managing workload and planning within the team. Manging data in relation to Contracts, workplans, spend information and recording savings and added value. Undertaking Procurement activities at a complex level, in accordance with the Trusts Procurement workplan, in accordance with Trust Corporate Governance and Public Sector Procurement regulations. Providing professional advice and guidance to Trust Directors, Managers, and clinical and non-clinical staff across the organisation. Job Purpose To lead the Capital (medical) team in the establishment and/or enhancement of robust relationships across the Trust, to drive productive collaboration between the Stakeholders and the procurement function in the effective forward planning of Capital procurement. Managing the Supplies Departments Medical Capital and Maintenance Teams. Responsible for ensuring that bespoke contracts for Capital equipment required by the Trust are competitively tendered and awarded in accordance with Trust Corporate Governance and Public procurement legislative regulations; that such contracts are established, managed, reviewed and renewed in a professional, effective efficient and timely manner and provide optimum value for money. Responsible for ensuring that all capital (>£5K) goods and services required by the Trust are procured in an effective, efficient and timely manner and in accordance with Trust Corporate Governance and Public Sector procurement regulations, providing optimum value for money. Responsible for ensuring that the Trust utilises where appropriate, national contracts established by NHS Supply Chain, Crown Commercial Services, the North of England Commercial Procurement Collaborative or other public sector collaborative procurement organisations where such arrangements provide benefit to the Trust; facilitating communication between the Trusts internal customers of goods /services covered by such contracts and those formulating them. Responsible for ensuring that goods surplus to the Trusts requirements and with a resale value are offered for sale in accordance with Trust Corporate Governance and appropriate NHS guidance. Responsible for ensuring that maintenance contracts are put and kept in place, where appropriate, for equipment purchased by the Supplies Department and for such arrangements delivering optimum value for money.
