Summary

As Parent Support Advisor (PSA), you will provide information and support to parents. You will establish partnerships between the school and families to ensure the best possible outcomes for children in our community.

This varied role will involve you working directly with parents and carers of students showing signs of social, emotional, health, behaviour and attendance issues. You will help to identify programmes for early intervention and preventative support that meets local needs and support families.

You will:

work 1:1 with parents and carers
work proactively with different services in and beyond the school helping parents support their children, making the most of educational opportunities
promote parental involvement in school-based activities, such as parents’ evenings and family learning
support and engage parents and students with the transition into both primary and secondary schools.
The successful candidate will need excellent people skills and be an excellent communicator. They will have experience of working with families and knowledge of the issues and challenges facing families in and out of school.
