Summary

CLINICAL PRACTICE Demonstrate a sound knowledge of infection control standards and promote these within the Trust adhering to the IPC Policy at all times. To establish effective communication with all disciplines, patients, and relatives. In conjunction with other specialist clinical staff, to undertake monitoring and evaluation of standards of care of patients. To participate in an audit programme of line care linked with quality improvement, clinical governance and infection prevention and control under the guidance of the Lead Vascular Access CNS. To assist in the delivery of a seamless service through Multidisciplinary Team processes and communication. To undertake such duties as may be required from time to time as are consistent with the responsibilities of the grade and the needs of the service. The post holder has a general duty of care for their own health, safety and well being and that of work colleagues, visitors and patients within the hospital, in addition to any specific risk management or clinical governance accountabilities associated with this post. To observe the rules, policies, procedures and standards of East Sussex healthcare NHS Trust together with all relevant statutory and professional obligations. To observe and maintain strict confidentiality of personal information relating to patients and staff. To be responsible, with management support, for their own personal development.
