Our fabulous Team at Davidson are on the lookout for active and compassionate individuals with the ability to motivate and inspire to join them as Support Practitioners on a full-time, permanent basis (39 hours per week).
You don’t need previous experience in care to join our team as a Support Practitioner as we recruit on values and transferable skills. We provide full training along with the opportunity for you to complete your SVQ.
The Role
You’ll be joining a small, friendly team who provide support to four individuals who live in their own home in the same block of flats.
The people we support have a range of different needs including Mental Health, learning disabilities, Acquired Brain Injuries, addictions and past trauma. As a Support Practitioner you will assist with all aspects of daily living including support with personal finances, prompts with medication and personal care, going to appointments and activities along with emotional and social support.
You will support the individuals on an outcome-based programme which will see them grow in confidence and learn life skills to increase their independence. You’ll take an active interest in their hobbies with include going out for walks and to their social clubs, volunteering and shopping. With your help. You’ll enable the individuals to explore new opportunities and reduce social isolation.
It would be great if you had a full UK manual driving licence with a minimum of 1 years' experience on the roads as a few of the people we support have their own mobility cars, but this isn't essential to join our team.
To be an amazing Support Practitioner, we’ll need you to:
Have an empathetic and caring nature.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Confidence in using computers.
Be able to work well in a team environment and on your own.
Good organisational skills.
Shift Patterns
Our dedicated team provide tailored support 24/7 and shift patterns include 9am – 6pm and a sleepover from 12:30pm – 12:30pm the following day with a sleepover between 11pm and 7am where you will be able to go to the staff flat.
The sleepover part of your shift is not included in your contracted hours so for every sleepover you cover you will be paid an additional £99.20.
