If so, we would love to hear from you!

The Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA) is a major organisation whose services reach into every household in the UK and is recognised as a government leader in its drive to embrace the digital age.

We are looking for an engineer to join the Staff Security and Identity Management team, who has a thirst for knowledge and eagerness to learn to assist in building world-class digital services on both traditional, on-premises systems as well as next-generation, cloud-based services.

This role is responsible for the design, build, maintenance, and support of the infrastructure services that underpin internal user services. Within this role, you will be acting as SME of Identity and Access Management and be accountable for the design and implementation of IAMs solutions and managing the Active Directory lifecycle.

You will be responsible for the delivery of a wide range of tools and services to meet the Agency’s current and future IdAM requirements, including the automation of Identity functions, such as onboarding and offboarding and user provisioning/deprovisioning. Other responsibilities include working closely with other support teams to enhance understanding, provide knowledge transfer and encourage adoption of the security principles introduced around Role Based Access Controls (RBAC) and the management of privileged identity/enhanced privileges.

You will also be responsible for helping with the delivery of the Identity and Access Management Strategies which will include PKI, KMS, Active Directory and IdAM.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver a safe and stable set of technical Identity solutions and services in an agile delivery team.
  • Automation of Identity functions, such as onboarding and offboarding.
  • User provisioning and deprovisioning.
  • Modern access management options, such as single sign-on (SSO), federated identities, multi-factor authentication (MFA) and privileged account management.

  • Designing, configuring and implementing IdAM solutions/services, such as:

    • PKI (Public Key Infrastructure).
    • KMS (Key Management Services).
    • Directory Services (including Active Directory).
    • Role Based Access.
    • Access Control (including least privilege).
    • Cloud Deployments (including AWS/Azure).
    • Microsoft Group Policies.
    • Modern Management (Microsoft Intune).
    • Microsoft SCCM (System Centre Configuration Manager).
    • O365 / Azure Security & Compliance designs.
    • Infrastructure as Code.
  • Recommend and document changes in processes, procedures, best practices, and policies that relate to identity management, to optimise and improve the value of identity management within DVLA.
  • Assist in setting the long-term direction and approach to Identity Management under the Staff Security and Identity Management team.
