Summary
See job description for further details To provide effective nursing leadership, expertise, advice and psychological support to families on critical care to ensure the provision of high quality care to children and families, addressing sensitive and address complex issues. To facilitate referral to appropriate support services and work closely with End of Life Champions and Schwartz Leads in Critical care To act as a designated support resource to children and families and other professionals caring for them. To provide family bereavement support and follow up care. To facilitate the development of all staff within the critical care team in the support of families in critical care. To promote an innovative and progressive attitude to the continual improvement of patient and family centred care through research and evidence based practice. To work in close co-operation with and communicate effectively at all levels within the multi-disciplinary team (MDT) and outside agencies. To contribute to long term patient management and discharge planning. Ensure the Patient and Public Involvement feedback is integrated into service design and developments. Ensure a comprehensive assurance report is provided every quarter to the Acute Pathway Management Team and information and learning disseminated to the staff. To line manage and support the Professional Nurse Advocates as they work to support staff wellbeing in Critical Care
