Summary

The post holder will work in a specialist clinical role providing high quality care for patients presenting with cardiology conditions including ACS, arrhythmia, and heart failure. Care will be delivered in cardiology SDEC, clinics and ward settings, including in reach to urgent care areas and medical wards across all sites (Alexandra, Worcester, and Kidderminster) To participate or take the lead, as appropriate in the nurse led Cardioversion/DCCV list and outpatient pre-assessment of these patients. The post holder will share the management of the trust wide cardiology specialist nurse team with the other cardiology nurse practitioners in the team. Key responsibilities will be allocated on a rotational basis. The post holder will have excellent ECG interpretation skills and knowledge of cardiac investigations including ETT, CTCA, Echocardiogram, stress echo and cardiac MRI The post holder will undertake initial assessment and/or review of patients with differentiated and undifferentiated diagnoses. Organise and facilitate early cardiac investigations and prompt referral to a cardiologist. The post holder will share the coordination of mentorship and education of junior nursing colleagues and students. Maintain compliance with quality improvement projects and mandatory audit relevant to the service. Participate in developing service criteria, pathways of care, protocols and guidelines service development encompassing audit, research, innovation, and evaluation. To work collaboratively, using specialist knowledge and skills across organisational, professional, and geographical boundaries.
