Summary

Health & Safety Advisor

The Opportunity:
Are you an experienced, NEBOSH qualified Environment, Health & Safety specialist looking for an exciting new role? As the EHS Coordinator, you will be responsible for the for the development of EHS policies and programs, advising and instructing on various safety-related topics, conducting risk assessments, and enforcing preventative measures across a large engineering site in Somerset.

Job Responsibilities:

- Ensure full compliance with UK legislation and company standards for environment, health, and safety.
- Provide technical advice and support for a complex manufacturing site.
- Design and deliver training programs, including toolbox talks, permit writing, risk assessment, and emergency procedures.
- Maintain training databases, matrices, and annual schedules.
- Assist with internal and external auditing processes and maintain COSHH systems and provide guidance to site team members.
- Support and develop a team of local shop floor EHS Coordinators.
- Accurately report and investigate incidents and near misses.
- Complete and review risk assessments and safe systems of work in accordance with current legislation and company standards.

Requirements:

- Previous experience in a EHS role is essential, ideally within a manufacturing and/or engineering environment, from which you will be able to demonstrate sound knowledge of EHS systems
- Strong working knowledge of UK and European health and safety legislation.
- NEBOSH Certificate as a minimum or a relevent degree.
- Proven EHS professional with excellent communication, interpersonal, and influencing skills.
