AnexcitingroleforamotivatedResearch Assistantto joinaNational Institute for Health Research (NIHR)fundedMersey Care Mood Clinic (MCMC),forming a vitalpart of amulti-disciplinary team of healthcare professionals and researchers launching and developingthis new serviceover 2 years.


Supported byMCMCChief InvestigatorandPsychiatry Leadand workingcollaborativelyalongsidea vibrant research delivery teamtocollectdata, including evidence-basedstandardised outcome measures e.g., PHQ-9, GAD-7,the post holder willsupportsuccessful delivery of the clinic againstlocal and national targets.


Withunderstandingof mental illness andthroughdeveloping andmaintaininggood working relationships with service users, carers, clinic staff and otherstakeholders,the successful applicant will ensureresearch is conducted within ICH Good Clinical Practice Guidelines for Researchandforma key part of the success of research studies and trials within the clinic.

Keyresponsibilitieswill include:

1. Assistingwithset-up and facilitation of researchactivityundertaken at MCMCincludingmaintainingand managingan external database.

1. Engagingpotential research participants,and others,in research studies and trialsthrougha variety ofmethods, includingindependentlytravelling.

1. Demonstrating an awarenessof the psychological/ emotional needs of research participantswhilst carryingout any relevant psychometric test materials,structured/ semi-structuredinterviewsandperiodicfollow-upandresponding and reporting appropriately.

1. Ensuringresearch proceduresare carriedin accordance withprotocol and UK policy framework for health and social careresearch.Supportingthe production of interim progressand governancereports for the clinic’s funderandrelevantcommittees.

1. Reviewingof electronic patient clinical notes, extracting and coding data forresearch purposes,andenteringintothe study database.
