About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Pavement Site Operative / Technician to join our dynamic Field Services Department. In this critical role, you will be responsible for assessing pavement (road) conditions across the UK, with a primary focus on the National Highways motorway network in the Southeast, as well as local roads.

Key Responsibilities:
• Pavement Coring and Sample Collection: Conducting precise pavement coring operations to collect samples for analysis, ensuring adherence to industry standards and project requirements.
• PAS128 Utility Surveys: Conducting PAS128-compliant surveys using advanced GPR technology to detect and assess subsurface utilities.
• Operation of Specialist Vehicles and Equipment: Efficiently operating a range of specialist vehicles and equipment necessary for pavement assessment projects, ensuring safety and effectiveness in all tasks including but not limited to:
• Coring Rig
• Falling Weight Deflectometer (FWD) Rig
• GPR Equipment
• Sample Analysis and Reporting: Analysing collected pavement samples, producing and checking core logs.

Qualifications and Experience:

Essential:
• Proven experience in pavement surveying, including coring sample collection OR proficiency in using Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) technology qualified to PAS128.
• Competence in operating specialist vehicles and equipment related to pavement assessment linked to the above.
• Valid CSCS card – Site Operative or Site Supervisor
•Flexibility to travel across the UK as required by project demands
• Willingness to work regular night shifts and adapt to varying work schedules
• A full driving licence is essential
• IT Literate (Microsoft Office)

Desirable:
• Category B+E driving licence
• Site Supervisor Qualifications (e.g. SSSTS)
• Experience in working to UKAS-accredited standards is an advantage.
