Summary
Corey is looking for a motivated and resourceful individual with a good sense of humour to join his team who will brave the snakes, offer some banter, support with kayaking, and help engage Corey in new opportunities as they arise.
Contract hours: 11hrs per week
Essential: Must have a full driving licence as you will need to drive a mobility vehicle. You must be comfortable working with a small child.
Corey can have a good but dark sense of humour and likes to have a bit of banter with his team. He needs someone who can help encourage him back to having an active lifestyle, such as attending the gym and building his confidence with kayaking. Corey plays wheelchair rugby and also enjoys growing plants, listening to music, playing the guitar, PlayStation, and watching a variety of shows and documentaries. Corey likes reptiles and has some pet snakes which he will need help to clean out.
Corey requires the use of a wheelchair and at times needs support with planning due to an acquired brain injury, he also needs some support with personal care. Corey also has a daughter that he visits so you need to be willing to work with a young child and have a playful attitude without taking over.
Corey is looking for someone who is dynamic and sees possibilities over obstacles. So, if you are someone who is comfortable with snakes, is energetic, and looks for opportunities, this could be the role for you.
Ideally you will:
Have similar interests to Corey
Be self-motivated
Put Corey at the centre of his support
Have good communication skills for Corey and the team
Have a good sense of humour and not be easily offended
Have a positive attitude
Have a non-judgemental attitude
Value the principles of inclusion
Be flexible with your shifts
Benefits:
We reward our staff with competitive salaries
We offer an Award Winning Pension Scheme
We have a company sick pay scheme
Excellent annual leave allowance, including top up pay
Critical Illness cover, reassurance when you need it the most
Life Insurance, reassurance for your family when they need it the most
A really good mandatory induction
Ongoing high quality training

A real chance to make a difference to someone's life
