Summary
Conference & Events Duty Manager - Kia Oval
The Oval, currently known for sponsorship reasons as the Kia Oval, is an international cricket ground in Kennington, in the London Borough of Lambeth, South London. The Oval has been the home ground of Surrey County Cricket Club since it was opened in 1845. It was the first ground in England to host international Test cricket in September 1880. The final Test match of the English season is traditionally played there.
In addition to cricket, The Oval has hosted several other historically significant sporting events. In 1870, it staged England\\'s first international football match, versus Scotland. It hosted the first FA Cup final in 1872, as well as those between 1874 and 1892. In 1876, it held both the England v Wales and England v Scotland rugby international matches, and in 1877, rugby\\'s first Varsity match. It also hosted the final of the ICC Champions Trophy in 2017.
Nature and Scope
Outline
• To provide strong leadership while ensuring the smooth running and execution of all Events, Conferences, Dinners and Match Day Hospitality at an operational level • Working very closely with the C/E sales team to ensure all operational details are discussed and agreed with the event organisers and attend site visits. • Working very closely with the Culinary team to ensure highest levels of service and food presentation. • Drive and facilitate activities that improve both communication and coordination within the C/E team and other departments.
Operational Focus Areas
• Ensuring all event organisers & clients receive a warm welcome and excellent customer service throughout the Event • Working closely with the clients to ensure that all expectations are met from conception to the delivery of the event• To attend weekly function sheet meetings with other internal teams to aid the planning and delivery daily conference and events. • Working closely with Head of C/E to produce rota\\'s and ensure labour costs are controlled and managed.• Working and managing a team of Managers and Supervisors to ensure the highest level of service at all times • Prepare and conduct briefings with managers and staff and managing training and development programme of the C/E team in line with venue and company policy. • To have a good working knowledge of in built AV systems and provide training to Event Managers / Supervisors • Working closely with the AV suppliers to order AV equipment as per requirements and manage costs • Working closely with the reception team to ensure all admin/paperwork and signage for events are produced and distributed before events. • To have a good working knowledge on Till systems and ensure closing down bars and security of stock. • Knowledge of all catering setups and working closely with the Logistics team to ensure all conference and Events are set according to the function sheets and as per SOP. • To maintain and keep all storage locations to par levels and to ensure the maintenance of all catering equipment working closely with the Logistics teamAbout you:At Levy UK & Ireland, we take pride in fostering a workplace culture that celebrates diversity and promotes inclusion.
