We're looking for candidates with the following qualifications and skills:
- Registered General Nurse (RGN) or Operating Department Practitioner (ODP) qualification
- Valid and clear registration with the NMC or HCPC
- Prior experience as a Surgical First Assistant (Minimum 6 months)
- Knowledge of surgical procedures and best practices
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to remain calm and focused in high-pressure situations
As an Agency Surgical First Assistant you will be responsible for:
- Provide assistance to surgeons during surgical procedures as per established protocols and standards
- Prepare and organize surgical equipment and instruments
- Maintain a sterile and safe surgical environment
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure the best possible patient outcomes
- Continuously monitor and assess patients during surgical procedures
- Adhere to ethical and professional standards at all times
- Provide support and guidance to other healthcare professionals as required
