Summary
Our approach to behaviour for learning centres on equipping and supporting staff in creating calm, positive learning environments in all classrooms and around the school. The focus is on building positive relationships with students and recognising and celebrating excellent effort and behaviour. Our priority is changing learners’ behaviour by developing positive attitudes to learning.
Underpinning this are restorative conversations between staff and students.
We currently have a vacancy in our RAISE Centre’ which we believe will support the culture change that is taking place at Pentrehafod School. An exciting opportunity has arisen for the right candidate to lead the process to further develop the provision
.
The RAISE centre is designed to address disruptive behaviour that impacts on teaching and learning. It will support teachers with behaviour management and reduce on calls for non-emergency incidents.
Students whose behaviour is impacting on the learning of others will have the chance to reflect and “reset” with the support of a trained behaviour support coach. It will ensure that restorative conversations take place and thus positive relationships are developed between students and staff.
