A Vacancy at University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust.

An opportunity has arisen to join the EP unit in a dynamic cardiology department at University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Trust.

Situated in the heart of Bristol the University Hospital is a large city centre Teaching Trust. We are the largest employer in central Bristol and provide a wide range of in-patient, out-patient and day care services to the local population, as well as being the specialist referral centre for the South West England and South Wales.

We are looking to appoint an electrophysiology fellow wishing to gain expertise in complex ablation (AF/VT) and devices (including CRT and device extraction). Applicants must be at ST6 level and above or post CCST, with previous experience of invasive electrophysiology/device implantation.

The successful applicant will be appointed as a senior fellow in cardiac electrophysiology and devices. The work programme will include three whole days (6 weekly sessions) in the EP/devices cath lab in rotation with all the EP consultants, one weekly EP clinic, and one admin session. In addition, there will be a whole day dedicated to audit and research. It is expected that the appointed fellow will undertake clinical audit and will supervise more junior doctors undertaking EP audits. Furthermore, the fellow will be required to set up and run a research project during his post. Finally, there is an educational EP meeting that runs every Friday morning and it will be the responsibility of the fellow to organize that meeting activity with the EP lead.
