Summary
As a key member of our team you will:
• *create smoke and fire curtains, sometimes manoeuvring heavy and large fabrics
• be able to interpret information from the Manufacturing Sheet, Drawings and Standard Operating Procedure’s (SOP’s)
• be responsible for your own Health and Safety, as well as others in the factory,
reporting accidents or near misses immediately
• carry out work issued by your Team Leader/Factory Supervisor to the correct quality (ISO) within reasonable timeframes
• refer to the work planning document (to ensure Team Leader can fairly distribute work and progress reports can be produced by them)
• ensure that materials are utilised fully to alleviate waste
• report any shortages of materials to the Team Leader/Supervisor, in order to keep production flowing
• carry out routine maintenance, reporting any faults with equipment, materials and/or work processes
• be willing to contribute to progressing any area of the fabric cell
• assist and have input into R&D projects. Playing an active role in continuous improvement
• will undertake any relevant training as required by the business
*Operations to be carried out within the Fabric Cell.
From the manufacture sheet or drawings provided, cut as many lengths from rolls of fabric to create width of curtain as required.
Mark out the joint positions and fix the jointing tape.
Take the lengths and join them to create the width of the curtain, then sew them.
Take the curtain to the marking out bench. Set out the final size of the curtain. Trim as required.
Sew hems and pockets as required.
