Summary
To safely perform fibro scans liver/spleen on children and young people (CYP) within the paediatric liver service, in both the inpatient, outpatient, day-case and theatre / endoscopy units / day-case units. To work closely with the multi-disciplinary team to ensure a high standard of fibro scans are performed. To develop the fibro scan service in partnership with the wider team. To arrange maintenance of the fibro scan machine and calibration of the probes. To be responsible for accurate data collection and audit information of the fibro scan service. To communicate effectively with CYP and their families / carers, ensuring that the procedure is explained in full, any questions are answered, and verbal consent is obtained.
