Are you an experienced Boiler House Technician with experience in the Building Services industry?


This is a fantastic opportunity to join one of the largest Facilities Management companies in the UK working at one of their prestigious clients' sites in Stevenage who are experiencing significant growth.


Salary: £42k plus excellent benefits
Benefits to include: 25 days hols plus BH, Pension, Flex benefits scheme
Hours of work: 8am - 5pm, Monday to Friday
Location: Stevenage


Role Responsibilities:

  • Monitor steam raising plant and associated equipment including testing of safety equipment.
  • Shut down and make safe any failed equipment with the potential to jeopardise safety and call out relevant engineers to maintain steam production.
  • Assist the Team Leader with planned, reactive or project tasks while ensuring they conform to the site procedures and agreed safety documentation.
  • Monitor, maintain, investigate and acknowledge the SCADA system.
  • Undertake hourly plant checks to note and report any defects and to maintain boiler rooms in a clean, tidy and safe condition.
  • Identify and record defects via the Boiler House Team Leader.
  • Provide rapid and effective response to customer and helpdesk requirements.
  • Ensure compliance and escalate any issue that effect the availability, health and safety and security of the site.
  • Maintain boiler water systems, carry out daily water treatment testing and record.
  • Develop relationships with the client


The successful Candidate:

  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and able to organise and manage own workload.
  • Aware of site critical and work risks.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Good understanding of health and safety documentation.
  • BOAS Accreditation or equivalent.
  • Hold a valid UK driving license.
  • Knowledge of PSSR (2000), SCADA systems and steam raising plant is essential
