Summary


We are looking for a motivated and effective research nurse with a ‘can do’ attitude and an eye for detail; the successful candidate will need to take ownership and delivery of their work with a desire to develop their research skills.

You should be organised/able to prioritise and demonstrate initiative, within the ethically approved confines of the protocol and Good Clinical Practice; able to thrive on challenges and be an effective problem solver.

This Band 6 post is to support the Dermatopharmacology research delivery team conducting studies in a variety of dermatological conditions.

The post holder will be a key member of a service providing specialist research and clinical care for participants in research studies. The post holder will liaise with Research Investigators and Sponsor companies to manage trial protocols and ensure that data collected is to the highest standards, with a commitment to participant safety and welfare. The post holder will have a key role in providing and maintaining appropriate participant-focused environment throughout the Trust The post holder will support both academic and commercial activity and the production of high-quality research.
• Liaise with Principal Investigators and Sponsor companies ensuring effective and efficient use of research resources and ensure data is collected in accordance with GCP guidelines.
• Oversee maintenance of investigator site files and essential documentation in accordance with ICH-GCP and Trust Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure they are kept inspection ready at all times.
• Responsible for organising participant visits, completion of case report forms and maintenance of study documentation according to Good Clinical Practice (ICH -GCP).
• Collect, collate and record all data and information relevant to study in full.
• Assist in the development, planning and organisation of the research studies conducted within the team.
• Planning for the set-up, delivery and close out of each research study as required by the protocol.
• To maintain accurate documentation of patient events in the nursing/medical notes and relevant local databases in accordance with Trust and national professional policies and other regulatory guidelines.
• Report and record near misses, adverse events (AE) and serious adverse events (SAE) that occur whilst the participant is being treated as detailed in the research protocol and Trust policies.
• To assist in the provision of on-going follow-up care whilst the participant is in the study

This vacancy is open to those who have a current NMC PIN to practice as a Registered Nurse or Midwife in the UK, or those who are currently enrolled on a course which means they expect to receive their full NMC Pin within the next 2-3 months.Please note an NMC PRN Pin is not a full NMC Pin and would not fulfil the essential criteria for this role.
