About the Role:

The Headteacher of our partner school in Cardiff is seeking dedicated and compassionate individuals to join their team as Specialist Support Assistants. In this role, you will provide essential support to learners aged 3 to 11 with various needs, including Autism, Physical Disabilities, Complex Needs, Speech and Language Needs, and Challenging Behaviour.

Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate as a committed member of a supportive team, working under the direction of class teachers and senior staff.
- Provide 1:1 or small group support to address the educational needs of pupils and help them overcome barriers to learning.
- Attend to the personal needs of pupils by implementing personal programmes, including support with social, health, physical, hygiene, medical needs, and welfare.
- Be involved in delivering school activities, such as Rebound therapy, swimming, and hydrotherapy.
- Manage learner behaviour effectively to reduce challenging behaviours.
- Assist with general classroom duties, including preparing for lessons, tidying up, and creating displays.
- Supervise pupils during breaks, lunchtime, and transitions around the school.
- Maintain basic record-keeping and contribute to pupil assessment by updating documents and tracking individual progress.
- Adhere to all school policies and procedures, especially those related to child protection, health and safety, and confidentiality, and report concerns as necessary.
