Summary

A Day Care Support Worker is responsible for supporting the young people at In Safe Hands Care Ltd by providing physical and emotional care.
This involves working as part of a team to ensure the physical, social, emotional care and development of the young people at the home and that puts the health, safety and wellbeing of the young people first. It is vital that support workers at In Safe Hands Care reliable, punctual, act professionally occasions and that they are good role models for the young people and other staff.
support young people with varying additional complex support needs such as ADHD, developmental delay, learning impairment, challenging behaviour.


1. To join an established team of Residential Care Support Workers ensuring that safe and appropriate care practices are maintained on all occasions.
2. To support the staff team in all aspects of the establishment’s operation.
3. To maintain positive childcare practice, in keeping with the aims and objectives of the establishment.
4. To provide safe, warm and supportive environment to all Young People residing at In Safe Hands Care Ltd.
5. To maintain a regular system of recording that is required in connection with each young person.
6. To be involved in the implementation and review of individual care plans.
7. To assist in the provision of reports as and when required.
8. To attend specialised review and planning meetings when required
9. To promote and maintain high standards of cleanliness.
10. To participate in the general activities of the establishment and to use any personal skills you may have to maximise opportunity for each young person residing at In Safe Hands Care Ltd.
11. To make outside contacts both individually and through various activities developed within and outside of the establishment.
12. To undertake delegated household duties as required
13. To undertake regular supervision sessions as required.
14. To attend staff team meetings and training sessions as required. Staff are required to attend at least 4 staff team meetings a year.
15. To accept responsibility for such monies as may be required in the carrying out of your duties.
16. To be available to cover shift as and when they are required.
17. To comply with the policies, procedures and practice of the establishment.
18. To respond to emergencies which may arise within the establishment.
19. To be available to cover additional hours as and when required to support both staff shortfalls and/or operational deficiencies.
20. To provide a positive role model for colleagues and to all young people who reside at In Safe Hands Care Ltd.
21. To deal with telephone enquiries and undertake administrative duties as required e.g. (log-books, daily information sheets, accident book, incident form etc.)
22. To maintain clear, accurate and appropriate records in line with policies & procedures, including details of assessment plans, decisions, visits and the implementation and evaluation of action with regard to the care plan.
23. Any other duties as may be reasonably requested by the manager
