Summary

Level 3 Premises Officer
OVERVIEW OF THE SCHOOL AND THE ROLE
Caldecote Community Primary School is looking for a committed, skilled and knowledgeable individual to join our premises team. You will need to have previous experience of building maintenance and have a good understanding of facilities management.
The position is a permanent, full-time role and you will work 37 hours week from 7am until 3.40pm for 52 weeks of the year (Leave entitlement per annum is 25 days excluding bank holidays, increasing to 30 days excluding bank holidays after five years continuous local government service). Salary is Grade 6, Point 15-18 (£29,777 - £32,076), starting point to be agreed based on previous experience. There will be the opportunity for additional hours and out of hours work. Any out of hours callouts will be paid at time and a third.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
• Experience of working in a school environment or similar fast paced setting.
• Experience of being in a similar role.
• Good communication skills.
• Time management.
THE RIGHT CANDIDATE:
• Demonstrate previous maintenance work and the ability to identify, monitor and carry out repairs, maintenance and redecoration.
• Demonstrate a technical specialism in a trade skill.
• Knowledge and understanding of building security.
• Demonstrate knowledge of moving and handling procedures and be physically able to carry out the physical tasks of the role (e.g. lifting, shifting, clearing snow etc).
• Demonstrate knowledge of Health & Safety and hygiene procedures and precautions.
• Awareness of COSHH regulations, applying knowledge gained as appropriate.
• Demonstrate good communication skills that allow effective communication with all levels of school staff, governors, pupils, contractors and outside professionals.• Calm and professional under pressure.
• A team player who can work collaboratively as well as using their own initiative.
• Willing & able to work outside normal hours, and be on call for emergencies.
