Summary

The primary task within this role is to suppThe role of the Maths tutor is to support and mentor a caseload of learners teaching Maths to enhance their knowledge and showcase their skills and behaviours within the workplace. Assisting learners in enhancing their Mathematic ability providing evidence against the appropriate learning aims. Functional Skills and end point assessment and ensuring learners complete their award within the agreed timeframe and in line with company Key Performance Indicators.

Main responsibilities:

Confirm learner’s current levels of competency and assist in the learner’s acquisition of new knowledge.
Teach a referred caseload of learners using a variety of assessment methods best suited to individual learners in line with internal assessment procedures.
Liaise with learners and employers, actively seeking employer involvement and feedback.
Develop and deliver learning materials to meet any awarding body achievement in a timely manner.
Raise awareness of Equality of Opportunity and Health and Safety issues with learners and their employers.
Complete relevant documentation, forms and other administrative tasks relevant to the role, liaise with other support services to ensure compliance with Key Stakeholders regulations and any changes to paperwork.
Complete timely learner session reviews, completing relevant paperwork and uploading to internal management systems within agreed timeframe.
Ensure personal knowledge and development of sector is up to date at all times.
Work with curriculum team leaders and other team members to provide support and share best practice in all areas of provision of delivery.
Organise and manage own diary to support the referred caseload of learners to ensure at all times time is cost effective and efficient.
Ensure at all times compliance with all ESFA and OFSTED requirements.
Provide monthly, accurate forecasting of learners Maths’s progression to support the learner achievements in a timely manner
Maintain a positive and motivated approach to all aspects of your role at all times and display professionalism to all parties.
Ensure accurate and timely reporting and communication is adhered to with line manager at all times.
Maintaining accurate and up to date CPD record by attending appropriate standardisation meetings.
Any other duties as reasonably requested as part of your employment.

You will:

Be highly motivated, persuasive, persistent and patient
Have the ability to provide effective feedback
An excellent communicator
Have good administrative skills, be flexible, adaptable and be able to cope under pressure
Have experience in delivering Functional Skills Maths at Level 2 to groups as well as individuals
Have 2 years of relevant industry experience
Take part in regular CPD activities
