Summary

Job Purpose To contribute to a high-quality service by carrying out assessment, goal setting, implementing treatment programmes and evaluation of clients within the musculoskeletal specialty who may have chronic presentation. To participate actively in the services training strategy, including in-service training, Trust and multi-agency training. To be responsible for planning a safe discharge from the service. Dimensions Responsible for physiotherapy assessment and treatment for a defined clinical caseload appropriate to the service area. Working under supervision of a senior physiotherapist. Lead group sessions where appropriate. Able to fulfil physical demands of role, including manual handling applications. Will be required within post to travel city-wide for visits/meetings. To participate in rehabilitation treatment programmes where applicable. To carry out training for other members of staff. Key Responsibilities To be professionally and legally responsible and accountable for all aspects of your work, including the management of clients in your care. To ensure a high standard of clinical care for the clients under your care, and support more junior staff to do likewise. To undertake the comprehensive, assessment of clients, including those with complex and/or chronic presentation using investigative and analytical skills and to formulate individualised management and treatment plans, using clinical reasoning and using a wide range of treatment options to ensure a specialised programme of care. To set Physiotherapy goals, carry out treatment interventions including group and individual treatments. To accept clinical responsibility for a designated caseload of clients and to organize this effectively with regard to clinical priorities and use of time. To demonstrate a commitment to evidence-based practice and make recommendations for change. To be responsible for own Continuing Professional Development keeping abreast of new trends and developments, incorporating them into your work as necessary. Attend relevant conferences and internal training courses. Support more junior staff to do likewise. To participate in the development of good practice for infection control within Nottingham CityCare Partnership under the guidance of the organizations policy and procedures. To assist with development and participation in the teams audit projects, demonstrates the use of evidence based practice projects and outcome measures, either individually or with other senior therapists. To make recommendations for change. To ensure the health & safety of staff and clients at all times in accordance with Health & Safety legislation and organizations policy and procedures. To adhere to all other Policies and Procedures. To participate in identified data collection and statistics and to maintain clear, concise and timely records in line with the service policy.
