Summary
Where a solicitor is representing a publicly funded client, a detailed bill is required before payment can be made to the solicitor. You will train to consider the papers of solicitors to extract the relevant information and input it into bespoke cost drafting software. Following the requirements of the Legal Aid Agency you will produce the bill that allows solicitors to be paid for their work. The area of work you will be handling will be principally family law. Computer literacy and good comprehension skills are key to success in this role.
