Summary


An opportunity has arisen within Cancer Performance department for a motivated and dedicated MDT Coordinator support.

Reporting to the MDT Coordinator and working closely with the Management and Clinical teams, the post holder will be responsible for ensuring that deadlines are met and that there is a pro- active co-ordination of cancer patient pathways to ensure appropriate treatment is received in line with national and local targets.

The post holder will establish key working relationships with all members of the administrative and clinical teams including nursing and medical staff, allied health professional and support workers. They will assist the MDTC in facilitating the tracking of ITT patients and surveillance tracking. They will act as a point of contact (in phone and in person) in communications with patients, relatives and GPs and other external hospital staff / tertiary referrers.



You will be responsible for providing waiting times and cancer outcomes data, monitoring and data collection (including collection and tracking of notes). You will also be responsible for supporting weekly PTL meeting of which you will help to prepare facilitate and record outcomes of each patient via the Somerset cancer database. As an MDT Coordinator support you will ensure concise and daily tracking of each step in a patient pathway, data quality and completeness, expediting appointments/visits ensuring patients are not delayed at any point in their pathway. You will also work closely with Wait List Teams and Secretaries and ensure regular communication with Sunderland and off-site clinics/colleagues.
