Our Digital Capability and Spaces team enables digital to attract, recruitment, build and retain quality talent by learning, hiring and working together. We are creating a diverse, inclusive and engaging workforce where high performing teams are empowered to deliver. As part of this team, you will help overcome and find innovative solutions to the challenges in the Digital skills space . You will elicit and share insight with colleagues, from technical specialists to senior stakeholders both across the civil service and externally.

In this role you will lead projects and deliver a quality service to the business. Your purpose is to develop and successfully deliver across a range of Recruitment Strategy projects. You will inform diversity and inclusion strategy, using your wealth of knowledge in this space. You will contribute to end-to-end recruitment process improvements across DWP Digital, including the implementation of a customer relationship management system. You will be critical in ensuring implementation of such strategies to a quality standard, on time and within budget, meeting DWP Digital’s resourcing demands whilst ensuring all governance and policies are adhered to.

Your excellent stakeholder management skills and ability to bring people together will drive successful outcomes. Your experience in a capability-build and people environment will enable you to inform change and improvement to the business, to make business critical resourcing decisions and secure value for money. You will have the opportunity to use your broad expertise in a similar position – to ensure that the Recruitment Strategies for DWP Digital are clear; deliverables remain on track; progress is monitored and communicated; and the priorities are right. Your experience in being able to present information in a clear and engaging way for senior stakeholders and colleagues across the organisation will be a critical enabler to achieve this.

For all elements of your work, it’s imperative that you work closely with stakeholders across our Digital teams, including technical specialists and senior leaders; HR; external suppliers and partners; other government departments; and of course your team mates within Recruitment and Digital Capability. It’s therefore essential that you have exemplary communication skills and like working with people! You will:

  • Research, develop proposals using an evidence base , present business cases, test, implement and evaluate for various resourcing challenges in DWP Digital
  • Build strong relationships with key people across the organisation, and particularly, in each Function and Communities of Practice which will facilitate you maintaining a thorough understanding of the current and future business needs and being able to ascertain and propose where changes or re-prioritisation in various Recruitment Strategies may be needed
  • Track and maintain progress and co-ordinate regular reviews, reports and presentations
  • Enable us to understand more about the art of the possible of recruitment innovation in the organisation, wider Government and the industry, including for priority roles, to shape our plans and decisions.
