Mon, 30 Sept 2024We have an exciting opportunity for you to join us as our new Senior Prudential Risk Analyst. In this role you’ll ensure the Skipton Group remains regulatory compliant in all areas of prudential risk through supporting and delivering the provision of assurance to senior stakeholders and the regulator.
Who Are We?
Not just another building society. Not just another job.
We're the fourth biggest building society in the UK and what makes us a bit different is that we're a mutual organisation. We don't have shareholders; we're owned by our members.
Our colleagues say Skipton's a great place to work, and you could be one of them, bringing with you new ideas on how we can keep customers at the heart of what we do.
Whatever your background, and whatever your goals, we'll help you take the next step towards a better future.
You will be joining the Prudential Risk Oversight team within our wider Group Risk function. The team provides second line oversight and support across a range of prudential risk disciplines including capital planning and reporting, climate risk, stress testing, regulatory returns, market and liquidity risk. The Prudential Risk Oversight team works closely with colleagues in Finance, Treasury, Credit Risk, Risk Modelling, Compliance and Internal Audit. We influence strategic decisions at the highest levels of the organisation and help to inform the Skipton Group’s response to emerging regulatory expectations.
What’s In It For You?
Skipton values work/life balance and we are proud to support hybrid and flexible working, where possible. We have a newly refurbished head office which offers a vibrant and collaborative working space.
We have a range of other benefits available to you including;
- Annual discretionary bonus scheme
- 25 days standard annual leave + bank holidays + rising 1 day per year of service to a maximum of 30 days
- Holiday trading scheme allowing the ability to buy and sell additional annual leave days
- Matching employer pension contribution (up to 10% per annum)
- Colleague mortgage (conditions apply)
- Salary sacrifice scheme for hybrid & electric car
- A commitment to training and development
- Private medical insurance for all our colleagues
- 3 paid volunteering days per annum
- Diverse and inclusive colleague networks available for you to join including our Carers and Pride Alliance groups
- We care about your health and wellbeing – we provide a range of benefits that support this including cycle to work initiative and discounted gym membership
What Will You Be Doing?
You’ll carry out second line of defence reviews over key areas of prudential risk, including key disclosures, regulatory returns, key assessments and interpret impacts associated with emerging regulation. With a keen eye for detail, you will perform high-quality tests and work with leaders in the team to communicate findings to a range of stakeholders.
We cover a wide range of risk areas, so gaining and maintaining technical knowledge is important. The role comes with opportunities to gain understanding in relevant areas through on the job learning and support for external training or qualifications.
What Do We Need From You?
We’re looking for a keen analyst with the ability to interpret and critically assess complex information, and to communicate in a succinct, impactful way to non-experts. You’ll be willing to learn about prudential risks and regulations. You’ll have the ability to build and maintain relationships with a range of stakeholders, providing constructive feedback and challenge where required. You will have strong numerical/analytical skills with experience of Microsoft Office software packages.
