A great opportunity has arisen to join the Missing Young Persons Team within Calderdale Council.

The Missing Young Persons Team are based within Calderdale's Family Intervention Team and are responsible for providing high quality Independent Missing Return Conversations to young people in Calderdale.

The role is to ensure that Missing Return Home Conversations are completed with Children and Young People in line with statutory guidance.

We are looking for someone who can creatively engage with and support young people who go missing from home and care.

You will need to be an approachable figure for young people and will provide a service where they get a chance to have their voices heard about their missing episodes.

You will build an understanding and awareness of the professional and social networks surrounding young people to build a picture as to the reasons why a young person goes missing.

If you have a Level 3 or above qualification in Youth and Community work or equivalent experience and have experience of working holistically and restoratively with emotional and often vulnerable families, we will welcome your application.

The successful candidate will also have good organisational skills, be able to communicate and respond to the needs of young people and individual families from diverse backgrounds; and exercise a high degree of independence, initiative and expertise in this arena.

Applicants to posts that are exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act will require a DBS from the Disclosure and Barring Service before the appointment is confirmed.
