Summary

Quality Manager

35 hours per week, 52 weeks per year

Salary: £39,498 per annum

The Quality Manager plays a vital role in continually improving the quality of our of teaching, learning, and assessment in our journey to world class. Reporting directly to the Director of Quality and Professional Development, your primary responsibility will be to support, challenge, and coach our teaching staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement. The post holder will work in alignment with all our key regulatory bodies priorities and expectations, assisting in the development and evaluation of quality assurance processes to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and institutional policies. Your expertise and guidance will enable you to drive overall improvement in all aspects of performance, both college-wide and within your designated areas.

Hull College provides high-quality education & training for 14-16, study programmes, adults, apprentices and Higher Education students, and in October 2023 were graded Good with outstanding features rating by Ofsted. Ofsted stated that ‘learners and apprentices benefit from high-quality teaching and training’ and that ‘staff have created a highly inclusive environment in which a diverse group of learners and apprentices learn well together. They promote a culture that proudly celebrates the diversity of the college’, and ‘work well together and learn from each other, in readiness for the realities of future life and work.’

Responsibilities of our Quality Manager:


Collaborate with the Director of Quality and Professional Development to develop and deliver inspirational, innovative, and up-to-date training programs that exemplify outstanding teaching, learning, and assessment.
Provide extensive coaching and support to individual teaching staff members, enabling them to enhance their practice in teaching, learning, and assessment.
Contribute to the improvement of teaching, learning, and assessment by making accurate judgements, providing high-quality coaching feedback, and actively participating in teachers' development plans.
Collaborate with Heads of Institute to enhance identified provisions related to teaching, learning, and assessment, aligning them with the highest quality standards.
Maintain a comprehensive understanding of Ofsted priorities, expectations, and judgements regarding the quality of education, ensuring strict compliance within the institution.
Design, deliver, facilitate, and evaluate professional development programs for teaching staff, focusing on the continuous enhancement of their teaching skills and practices.
Actively engage in professional development activities and take on cross-college responsibilities within your area of expertise, such as digital innovation.
Provide dedicated support to newly qualified or staff training to be teachers, offering guidance and assistance to help them develop their professional practice.
Foster collaboration with other educational providers and external agencies to identify and disseminate best practices in teaching, learning, and assessment, driving continuous improvement.
Actively seek and respond to the views of learners, working closely with them to enhance and improve the quality of their learning experience through innovative and inspirational practices.
Analyse and interpret relevant data and information to support ongoing improvements in student success and teaching, learning, and assessment.
Actively participate in relevant college groups and events focused on teaching, learning, and assessment, contributing to the overall enhancement of educational standards.
Provide accurate information and reports to the Vice Principal of Quality and Learner Experience and Director of Quality and Professional Development, ensuring transparency and accountability.


What we’re looking for in our Quality Manager:


A relevant educational qualification, preferably at the postgraduate level.
Extensive experience in the field of teaching, learning, and assessment, with a proven track record of driving quality improvement.
Familiarity with Ofsted and all other quality assurance frameworks and bodies' priorities, expectations, and judgements.
In-depth knowledge of educational technologies and their effective integration into teaching practices.
Strong organisational and project management abilities.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work collaboratively and build relationships with various stakeholders.
A strong commitment to continuous professional development.
