About the Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Faculty of Construction and the Built Environment at Exeter College to support the Carpentry and Joinery department. This department has seen huge growth in apprentices and full-time learners as well as substantial investment into staff, facility and equipment over the last few years and this role is to support this growth. This is a fantastic opportunity for anyone with industry experience in carpentry and/or joinery, offering excellent prospects for personal development.

This role is essential in providing appropriate and effective support for both learners and lecturers in the workshops. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring that the area is well equipped and maintained whilst also ensuring it is up to date with all changes and developments to ensure it is up to industry standards. Teacher training can be provided for the right individual however this aspiration is not essential for the role.

We offer courses to students that range from basic to advanced levels and support is required to meet the needs of these learners. Students are given the opportunity to learn a range of practical skills supported by in-depth under pinning knowledge of the subject. Ideal candidates will have significant industry skills and experience, have a good worth ethic and be a reliable and positive team member. We will also support any progression for those who wish to advance into a career in teaching.
