Summary

PS Limited are looking for a reliable, professional and flexible Senior Care & Support Assistants to work in residential care homes and the community based in and around Bury St Edmunds. We need experienced Senior Care & Support Assistants who are willing to take on work on an ad hoc basis.

This role involves:
• Providing a quality specialised person centred care and support service for service users’ with very complex needs in line with relevant regulations and business policies and procedures
• Supporting service users’ in maximising their independence and maintaining integration with the wider community to access social and leisure activities and liaise with external agencies to ensure that appropriate multi-disciplinary/specialised support is available
• Providing care and support as required to ensure service users’ personal hygiene, dietary needs and medication needs are met maximising their independence
• Ensuring the development and maintenance of specialist services based on best practice, placing service users at the heart of care and support provided offering choice and involvement in care planning
• Providing advocacy to support service users’ and their families when required, to maximise their independence and personal potential
• Promoting self-practices and undertake risk assessments within legislative frameworks and business protocols, escalating issues as appropriate
• Managing the implementation of safeguarding principles and responsibilities to ensure the safety of service users’ and to avoid potential risk

Applicants require:

Essential:
• Literacy and Numeracy equivalent to at least GCSE Grade C English and Maths
• HVQ3 in Health & Social Care, or willing to work towards
• Minimum 1 years paid UK experience as a Senior Care & Support Assistant
• Enhanced DBS
• Basic Life Support Certificate
• Manual Handling Certificate
• Full Right To Work in the UK
• 2 references (must cover past 3 years)
Desirable:
• Full, current driving license (may be essential in some locations)
