Summary


Apprenticeships are designed to give talented people an opportunity to gain a nationally recognized qualification while completing on the job training. You will be supported to learn and develop the knowledge, skills and behaviours you need to perform in the job role. You will also have study time allocated within your working hours to gain your qualification.

For this role, you will support the department in providing an effective and efficient procurement service, building relationships whilst working with both customers and suppliers. You will ensure all orders, invoice queries and new item requests are processed correctly and in compliance with Trust Standing Financial Instructions and Standing Orders.

This opportunity is advertised on a fixed-term contract basis due to this being an apprenticeship, the objective of which is to gain a recognised qualification and experience in the workplace. This does not include a guaranteed permanent post with an NHS organisation, however throughout the apprenticeship individuals are eligible to apply for vacancies within their workplace organisation, subject to the usual recruitment processes, with support being provided to ideally secure a position by completion.

Under supervision, obtain quotations to achieve best value for money against low value products and services and provide support for the catalogue management. Knowledge of systems and procedures for procurement acquired through on-the-job training to be shared with customers when required.To work in accordance with all relevant Health, Safety and Statutory legislation and to aspire to best working practice at all times.
