Summary
Provide effective communications between internal / external customers with particular regard to the NHS Supply Chain in order that goods are available and obtained in accordance with established procedures and timescales, to facilitate the day to day activities provided to the patients, staff and visitors to South Tyneside & Sunderland NHS Foundations Trust. The job holders brief will include the day to day management of the Materials Management Service; support Directorates by ensuring we provide a value for money service, for the whole of South Tyneside & Sunderland NHS Foundation Trust and also CHoICE. The Materials Management Service is the management of Ward / Department stocks to defined inventory levels, maximising benefits on price breaks, reducing cost, improving quality and providing a seamless service to our internal customers. This is a physically demanding post which involves manual handling activities such as lifting, carrying, and unpacking of boxes. Electronic transmission of data between the Trust and NHS Supply Chain supports this activity.
