An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Mental Health Head of Commissioning role within the Birmingham and Solihull Mental Health, Learning Disabilities and Autism Provider Collaborative. The successful applicant will lead the established Mental Health Commissioning Team that are responsible for the commissioning of inpatient and community services across the Birmingham and Solihull Integrated Care System.

The post holder will be expected to lead the commissioning team and work at a local and regional level to develop and deliver key work programmes that will support improvement across the mental health care system. The successful applicant will lead the commissioning of services that demonstrate innovation, efficiency, sustainability, and value for money; continuously proving the quality of care.

A key element of the role will be to actively engage with a wide range of partners within the Provider Collaborative and across the wider health, social care system and local communities including service users and carers.

- Manage the team's business support function, including developing and managing the team's annual business plan, progress and dashboard reporting and risk and issue management.

- Oversight and management of all aspects of the Mental Health Provider Collaborative budgets.

- Operationally manage and oversee the commissioning team to ensure delivery of strategic programmes of work.

- Manage all corporate business returns, including planning and delivery returns.

- Provide the strategic interface with the NHSE MH programme and translation into commissioning activities.

- To lead and oversee the commissioning function to ensure high quality and effective mental health services across the MH Provider Collaborative.

- Lead and oversee the development and delivery of commissioning transformation plans.

- Develop commissioning models that ensure value for money and promote excellence.

- Constantly strive for value for money and greater efficiency in the use of these budgets to ensure that they operate in recurrent financial balance year on year and support ICBs in delivery of the mental health investment statement thus ensuring parity of esteem.
